HEY do you like the fish?

<><

1st day back to the gym

My friend Jaycie and I finally made it to the gym tonight. When I lost my debit card in Dec, I forgot that the gym was billing to that card, so I had to pay for Dec and a  $10.00 extra fee ...YIKES!!!!
But it felt good to get back on the treadmill. I am hoping to get there at least 3x a week.
I'm still waiting for my supplements to arrive ( we'll see if they work any magic). Oh by the way I made my 1st batch of almond-brown rice milk ...... boy, do I have a lot of work ahead of me ....it still doesn't taste like I though it would. I bought some dates and dried apricots to blend with the nut milk, but so far I'm still eating them as a snack. And I (unfortunately) discovered that the no-calorie vegetable sprays ( like PAM) have dairy in them ....bummer :(   The good news is that I found chicken-like cutlets at GIANT and they really taste like chicken.

TIME TO HIT THE SACK......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

UNDER CONSTRUCTION..not only my new blog..... also me !!!!!!!

It is the start of the new year, and 2010 had been an interesting journey into the strange and wonderful world of  vegitarianism. Ova-Pesca vegetarianism (O-P-V)....to be exact!

Somehow I managed to stay on track thru most of the year, and successfully prepared a non-dairy-non-meat Thanksgiving dinner for myself and my Uncle. Who knew my non-dairy pumpkin pie would be such a hit! The bummer came on Dec 16th at my doctor appointment, when I discovered I actually had gained all the weight I had lost in the past 6 months. Have you ever heard of  anyone gaining weight as a vegetarian? My doctor wants me to get the LAP-BAND surgery, but I'm still not there yet. Oh well back to the drawing board.

To cheer myself up I bought myself a soymilk maker machine. I have made one batch of soy milk ( it was....... ok). I have almonds to try next.

One thing I did discover, while on this vegetarian quest, I felt no depression or blues. During the Christmas - to - New Years holidays, I took a break and ate everything in sight ...... ugh! (not a good thing) I did notice the blues creeping back in a bit. I am prepared to start getting more aggressive, with a multi-prong attack.

Ok, here is my plan: 1. back to the O-P-V  way of eating. 2. cut out or severely reduce my carb intake. 3. measure ( portion control) my fats. 4. go back to the gym ( I'm paying for a membership already anyway). 5. increase my water consumption. 6. I stumbled on some a weight loss supplement that got some good reviews, but it was really expensive. Luckily, I was able to find the ingredients elsewhere for much cheaper (Winter Cherry: Ashwagandha, green tea, cinnamon, chromium picolinate, and bitter melon).  7. consistent sleep 8. and last but not least I will blog to keep on track
 :)
........here we go!
